Learn how to ethically and legally work in historic Cemetaries in Florida. The Cemetary Resource Protection Training workshop focuses on cemetery care and protection. Participants explore cemeteries as historical resources while learning about laws that protect them, conserving headstones and markers, managing cemetery landscapes, and practicing hands-on headstone cleaning with D-2 biological solution. By the end of the course, participants are well-versed in issues surrounding basic protection of historic cemeteries and are encouraged to record a historic cemetery over the next year.
9am-noon - Registration, light breakfast will be graciously provided by Discover Wimauma, Inc.
12:00 pm - lunch will be at the church and is graciously provided by First Prospect Missionary Baptist Church.
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm - Afternoon session to tour cemetery landscape and management, discussion and questions.
